Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan

I still miss him to this day. Stevie was my introduction to blues. I didn't grow up in the blues environment, it was mostly pop/rock so this was fresh for me. He was my Jimi Hendrix growing up and I really shaped my playing from listening to him. I noticed it just evolving over the years and fell deeply in love with that style. I then started to listen to a lot of Hendrix as well. Stevie also introduced me to the strat and single coils. I wasn't quite ready for one at the time being that humbuckers and floyd rose equipped guitars were all the rage. He kept poking it in my face with every album he released. I was on board from the second I heard that ripping guitar introduction on Pride and Joy.....Passion and joy in all his music, playing with such conviction. SRV......
